President of Uzbekistan to pay a working visit to Azerbaijan
At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a working visit to Azerbaijan on November 23-24.
The Head of our state will attend the first Summit of the United Nations Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) in Baku.
The agenda of the event includes further expansion of multilateral cooperation within the framework of the Program, the establishment of a Trust Fund to support regional projects, the adoption of an action plan for digitalization of transport corridors, the promotion of business initiatives, and other issues.
The SPECA Program was established in accordance with the Tashkent Declaration in order to strengthen sub-regional cooperation in Central Asia and its integration into the world economy on March 26, 1998. The participating states are Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
A number of SPECA business events are taking place in Baku these days, including the Economic Forum and an exhibition to demonstrate the industrial potential of Central Asian countries.
