Retirement pensions in Uzbekistan to be automatically assigned
From March 1, 2025, age-related retirement pensions in Uzbekistan will be assigned automatically, without any application process.
As noted, the active integration of information technologies into the pension system is gradually transforming the services provided to citizens into a more interactive and proactive format.
Specifically, from March 1, 2025:
• Pensions will be automatically assigned to citizens who reach retirement age, without requiring documents or a formal application;
• All necessary personal information will be obtained from electronic databases of relevant ministries and agencies.
As a result of these changes:
First, citizens will no longer need to visit local Pension Fund offices to gather additional documents for pension assignments.
Second, once a decision on age-related retirement pension assignment is made, the citizen will receive a notification about the pension and its amount via SMS.
Additionally, those who wish to continue working without retiring, or are dissatisfied with the assigned pension amount, will have the right to decline the automatic pension assignment.
If a citizen disagrees with the pension assignment, its amount, or the refusal of an assignment, they may submit a formal complaint to the district (city) branch of the Pension Fund.
