A youth art exhibition titled “Chinese Art in Uzbekistan” has opened at the Fergana Regional Museum of History and Culture.

Organised jointly by the Fergana regional administration and the Beijing Association for Foreign Cultural Exchange and Trade, the exhibition brings together selected works by young artists. The display features artistic interpretations of landscapes in Uzbekistan and China, the history of the Great Silk Road, large-scale construction and development projects, as well as the shared values of the two friendly nations.

The works by young Chinese artists were previously showcased during the recent visit of a Fergana regional delegation to China. More than 300 Chinese participants who took an active part in a competition dedicated to Uzbekistan - China friendship have their works on display. In line with a mutual agreement, these pieces are now being exhibited in Fergana.

At present, the museum’s exhibition hall is presenting artworks on a wide range of themes created by more than 300 students and young people from 30 provinces of China. The exhibition has sparked strong interest among their peers in Fergana.

“In the near future, we plan to organise an exhibition of works by young Uzbek artists in China,” said Khurshidjon Akhmedov, Deputy Governor of Fergana Region. “To this end, a creative competition among young people will be held jointly with the Fergana regional branch of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan and our Chinese partners. An agreement has been reached to display the winning works at an exhibition hall in Beijing.”The initiative is expected to further strengthen cooperation in culture and the arts and to promote friendship and creative exchange among young people.
