Uzbekistan reaches final of Asian Amputee Football Championship

The Asian Amputee Football Championship is currently taking place in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. This is the first-ever edition of the continental tournament, and the Uzbekistan national team is making a commendable showing.
The team showcased its dominance in the group stage, securing three consecutive victories. Uzbekistan defeated Indonesia 8-1 in its opening match, followed by a resounding 13-0 win against Nepal.
In the third round, they overcame the host nation, Bangladesh, with a 3-0 victory — accumulating a perfect nine points to qualify for the semi-finals.
In the semi-final match held on February 11, Uzbekistan continued its winning streak by defeating Iraq. The team netted three goals while maintaining a clean sheet, earning a spot in the tournament final.
Uzbekistan will now compete for the championship title on February 12 against the winner of the Indonesia vs. Nepal match.
Uzbekistanʼs amputee football team has a strong international record, having won seven medals in the history of the World Championship, including three gold (2007, 2010, 2012), one silver (1998), and three bronze (1991, 2002, 2022).
