On April 14, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed presentations on tourism and urban development projects.

During a video conference held on April 9, the Head of state emphasized the potential to increase the number of tourists visiting Uzbekistan by two to three times by leveraging the countryʼs rich history, cultural heritage, and natural beauty.

One of the highlighted locations was the “Chorvok darvozasi” complex in Bostanlyk district. In December of last year, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev personally inspected the construction progress. The first phase of the project has now been completed. The complex features 16 multi-story residential buildings, three hotels, commercial and service facilities, cafes and restaurants, a bank office, and a parking lot. Solar panels will be installed on the rooftops of the buildings.

The presentation also provided updates on the next phases of construction and efforts to enhance the complexʼs appeal to tourists. It was noted that constructing a small hydroelectric power station on the Chirchiq River would be an effective way to supply the complex with affordable and environmentally friendly energy.

Another project focuses on constructing an oceanarium in the Yashnobod district of Tashkent. Planned across 20 hectares along the Chirchiq River, the oceanarium is expected to become a new tourist attraction. A shopping and hotel complex will also be developed nearby, creating 1,600 new jobs.

A residential and business complex is also planned for construction in the Yakkasaroy district. The development will include multi-story apartment buildings, kindergartens, schools, sports and wellness centers, a hotel, and office spaces.

President Mirziyoyev stressed the importance of thoroughly considering the legal and financial aspects of these projects, as well as infrastructure requirements. He instructed officials to develop a comprehensive action plan, clearly define quality standards and deadlines, and ensure strict monitoring of project implementation.
