The President has reviewed presentations on construction projects underway in New Tashkent.

The foundation of the city was laid in 2023, and today, the first buildings have already begun to rise. A total of 19,700 hectares of land in the Yukorichirchiq and Urtachirchiq districts has been allocated for development. The project concept was prepared by the UK-based company Cross-works.

In the initial phase, facilities will be built on 6,000 hectares, creating modern living conditions for 600,000 residents. Once fully completed, the city is expected to accommodate 2 million people.

These figures illustrate the vast scale of the development in the area. Accordingly, the infrastructure must therefore be built to high standards and designed for long-term durability. For this reason, the city’s ‘foundation’—its underground engineering networks—is currently under construction.

In particular, single- and double-section collector systems are being installed. These will carry all essential utilities underground, including centralized heating and water pipelines, electricity, and telecommunications. Tunnels and underground parking facilities are also being built to ensure smooth traffic flow.

Each project incorporates modern approaches, comprehensive solutions, and green spaces. An environmentally friendly transport system will be developed, with metro lines and electric buses operating in coordination. Safe and accessible conditions will be created for pedestrians and cyclists.

The administrative zone will include more than 60 buildings for government institutions. To date, over ten ministries and agencies have already started operating from temporary premises in the new city.

The President was also briefed on projects planned for the near future.

The city has drawn strong interest from both domestic and foreign investors. So far, investment agreements worth USD 554 million have been signed for 13 commercial lots auctioned.

Hotels, restaurants, and modern buildings with unique architecture will be built, offering visitors high-quality services and helping transform New Tashkent into a tourism hub.

The construction process in the area is expected to provide employment for 160,000 people. In the future, the city will create hundreds of thousands of permanent, high-income jobs based on innovative technologies. To support this, new education and healthcare clusters, IT services, and technology parks will be established.

The President gave recommendations on attracting further investment and on establishing recreation areas and public services in a convenient way.
