Military Personnel barred from engaging in entrepreneurship
Military personnel serving in Uzbekistan’s Armed Forces and employees of law enforcement agencies are now prohibited from engaging in entrepreneurial activities. The “Huquqiy axborot” telegram channel reported this.
According to the report, amendments and additions to certain laws were introduced through a law signed by the President on November 29 of this year.
The new legislation aims to enhance the combat readiness and operational efficiency of the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies. Specifically, the law introduces amendments and additions that establish specific restrictions for those serving in Uzbekistan’s Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies.
In particular, military personnel and law enforcement officers are prohibited from engaging in entrepreneurial activities, using their official powers to perform or refrain from duties in the interests of individuals or legal entities in exchange for any reward, benefit, or gifts, and from taking advantage of unauthorized privileges, preferences, or advantages linked to their official position.
The law will come into force one month after its official publication.
