Unified Social Card to be introduced in Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan is set to introduce a unified social card, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced on December 13 during a meeting focused on the outcomes of social protection initiatives and priority tasks for 2025.
Currently, citizens need to carry over ten different documents, including birth certificates, disability certificates, pension and student IDs, and bank cards, to access 65 types of social services and assistance.
President Mirziyoyev emphasized the need to eliminate such inconveniences, declaring that the unified social card would consolidate all these documents into a single solution.
The card will enable citizens to access free public transportation on buses and the metro, receive compensation for utilities and education expenses, and have pensions and social assistance funds directly deposited into it.
This system will be piloted in Tashkent City and Yangiyul District by July 1 and will be implemented nationwide by the end of the year.
