Social Card pilot program launched in Tashkent and Yangiyul District of Tashkent region
The social card was introduced in the pilot phase in Tashkent city and Yangiyul district of Tashkent region. The National Agency for Social Protection reported this.
The initiative, which began in December 2024, targets individuals eligible for nine types of newly assigned social payments. These include:
1. Child benefits for low-income families,
2. Financial assistance for low-income families,
3. Age-related pensions,
4. Disability benefits,
5. Monthly support for elderly individuals living alone and people with disabilities,
6. Disability benefits for children under 18,
7. Benefits for mothers caring for children with disabilities,
8. Vouchers for purchasing prosthetic-orthopedic items and rehabilitation equipment,
9. Survivorʼs benefits.
These social cards are provided free of charge to recipients and will initially function as a payment tool (bank card).
From April 1, 2025, the program will expand in the pilot areas to include maternity and childbirth benefits, as well as one-time financial assistance provided through the “Sakhovat and Kumak”, “Womenʼs Registry” and “Youth Registry” funds.
Starting July 1, 2025, the social card will be gradually introduced in all regions of the republic.
