President gets acquitted with preparations for the autumn-winter period and development of transport infrastructure

On October 30, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited several city facilities in Tashkent to view the progress in preparation works for the autumn-winter period, and construction works being carried out to improve the transport infrastructure.
Today, issues of preventing problems in infrastructure functioning and ensuring the quality and safety of the roads during periods of weather inconveniences and temperature drops are of current importance, and these tasks are under the constant attention of the President.
The Head of state got acquainted with the workflow in this direction by visiting the construction of an overpass leading to Tashkent International Airport.
The overpass on Bobur Street passes over the railway tracks and the Small Ring Road. To improve traffic flow and increase road capacity, a new bridge was built in addition to the existing one. It is being built using prefabricated monolithic technology and meets quality requirements.
After completing the construction work, the total width of the bridge will reach 46 meters. The throughput will increase to 20 thousand vehicles per day; now this figure is about 9–10 thousand.
Two roundabout intersections and four curved ramps are also being built from the bridge. This will prevent traffic from crossing, eliminating the need to turn around. Pedestrian and bicycle paths on the bridge have also been expanded.
The President inspected the construction process and gave instructions on further improving the convenience of pedestrians and cars on neighboring roads and landscaping the area.
Air harbors are a strategically important part of the transport infrastructure. To manage them, a separate Uzbekistan Airports JSC was established, which is carrying out a phased modernization of the airports.
In recent years, the second terminal of Tashkent International Airport has been built, and its capacity has been doubled. At the beginning of this year, another departure hall was renovated. There are Duty-Free stores, an Art Bazaar shopping complex, jewelry and grocery stores, a pharmacy, a mother and child room, and a prayer room now.
In general, as a result of the three-year reconstruction, the area of the departure terminal of the airport increased from 56 thousand to 80 thousand square meters.
Another international terminal is under reconstruction. The project involves decorating the exterior and interior of the building in the national style and expanding the entrance areas. The convenience of meeting and serving guests will be improved. The area adjacent to the terminal will be landscaped.
The Head of our state inspected the progress of construction and improvement works and gave instructions to improve the quality and responsiveness of passenger service.
Besides, officials reported to the President the state of readiness for the autumn-winter period in economic and social facilities. Specific instructions were given to speed up and qualitatively complete this work while maintaining good quality.
