Patrol units in Uzbekistan to offer paid public safety services

The government of Uzbekistan has approved a procedure allowing patrol and checkpoint service (PCS) units to provide contract-based services for maintaining public order and ensuring public safety.
According to the document, starting from September 1, legal entities will be able to request such services through the Unified Interactive Government Services Portal (my.gov.uz) or Public Service Centers, based on a legal and contractual agreement.
The services will be delivered via the Ministry of Internal Affairs' “Electronic Patrol” system, under which PCS officers will offer paid services to maintain public order and security in areas with high foot traffic.
It is noted that the regulation does not apply to the organization and conduct of public events such as meetings, rallies, or street demonstrations.
Service rates will be set in coordination with the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
