Mother and baby born in Tashkent Metro granted free lifetime metro rides
Following a remarkable event on October 6, when a baby was born at the Gafur Gulyam station of the Tashkent Metro, the metro administration has announced a special gift: the newborn and the mother will receive free, lifelong metro access.
The Tashkent Metro administration confirmed the decision, stating that the extraordinary event—a birth inside a metro station—had surprised and delighted many. "In connection with this unforgettable moment, the Tashkent Metro management plans to present the mother and her newborn child with a special card granting them the right to use the metro free of charge for their entire lives," the official statement said.
The Tashkent Metro management will also recognize and reward several employees for their service. This includes Naima Makhamadjanova, the on-duty employee commended for her vigilance and courage, as well as other metro staff who assisted during the birth.
