Seven district heads, two town mayors reprimanded

The President is chairing a video conference call to discuss the situation concerning the introduction of renewable energy sources in the regions and measures to ensure stable operation of the energy system during summer.
The President criticised local officials' shortcomings in carrying out the tasks set for the installation of small solar panels at businesses, households and social facilities.
In particular, Samarkand, Jizzakh and Bukhara regions show good results in installing solar panels in the social sphere and public institutions to ensure uninterrupted power supply, while Karakalpakstan, Tashkent, as well as Tashkent and Navoi regions are lagging far behind.
The situation is unsatisfactory in Sergeli, Chilanzar, Uchtepa, Nukus, Beruni, Bekabad, Parkent, Piskent, Kyzyltepa, Gulistan, Syrdarya, Arnasoy, Baghdad, Furkat, Termez and Oltinkol districts.
So is the situation with attracting entrepreneurs to projects in the sector. Only 50 MW of capacity has so far been put into operation out of 790 MW initially planned to be created by them.
The governors of Saykhunabad, Kogon, Jondor, Mirzaabad, Sharof Rashidov, Pakhtakor and Yangarik districts, and the mayors of Yangiyer and Urgench towns did not have a deeper look into the issue. These governors and mayors have been reprimanded and, if they fail to make any change within two months, they will be dismissed.
Some governors were criticized for choosing an easy way out and getting used to spending only budget funds to fulfill their task.
