Uzbekistan sends 183 tons of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan for Eid al-Adha
Acting on President Shavkat Mirziyoyevʼs instruction, Uzbekistan has delivered another batch of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, consisting of 183 tons of food products, in honor of Qurbon Hayiti (Eid al-Adha). The aid, which symbolizes the Uzbek peopleʼs generosity and solidarity, was sent to Balkh province, according to the Surkhandarya Regional Administrationʼs press service.
The delivery took place at the premises of the “Astras” company in the city of Hairatan. The handover ceremony was attended by Ismatilla Irgashev, Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan; Ulugbek Qosimov, Governor of Surkhandarya region; Nurulhodi Abuidris, Deputy Governor of Balkh province; and other officials from both sides.
The aid package includes flour, rice, sugar, pasta, confectionery products, vegetable oil, ready-to-eat meals, red beans, and mung beans.
“Afghan officials expressed their gratitude to the President and people of Uzbekistan for the humanitarian assistance provided and extended their sincere congratulations on the occasion of Eid al-Adha,” the statement said.
