Tashkent Metro to be extended to the Tashkent Tractor Plant area

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was briefed on the upcoming projects planned for the development of the Tashkent Metro.
The metro plays a major role in Tashkentʼs public transport system. To make commuting more convenient for passengers, new lines are being built. The Yunusabad line has been extended to the Turkiston station, and the Chilanzar line now reaches the Sergeli district. On the Presidentʼs initiative, an above-ground metro line was also introduced—a loop from Dustlik to Sergeli. These new routes connect the Yunusabad, Yashnobod, Mirobod, Sergeli, and Yangihayot districts, making daily travel much easier for residents.
Now, plans are in place to extend the metro to the Tashkent Tractor Plant area. In previous discussions, the President had instructed that the project be optimized for both cost–efficiency and public convenience. Based on this, a new proposal has been prepared, which outlines a two-phase implementation.
In the first phase, a metro line will be built above ground, running parallel to the existing railway, from Pushkin station to the Feruza neighborhood in the Mirzo Ulugbek district. In the second phase, the line will be extended from there to the main station in the Tashkent Tractor Plant area.
Currently, about 47,000 vehicles and a total of 194,000 passengers enter the city center from this direction each day. The planned new route is expected to serve 85,000 passengers.
The presentation outlined the technical and practical aspects of the proposed route in detail.
