Special scholarships to be awarded to female students from low-income families

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree titled “On Further Improving the State Social Support System for Low-Income Families,” the Telegram channel “Huquqiy axborot” reported.
Under the decree, starting June 1, 2025, female university students from “red category” low-income families who maintain excellent academic records will receive a special scholarship equal to twice the basic stipend. The initiative aims to support young women financially and encourage academic excellence in higher education.
Additionally, from September 1, 2025, 15% of places in extended day groups at general secondary schools will be allocated specifically for children from low-income families. These students will be exempt from parental payments for these services.
Starting January 1, 2026, children from low-income families who achieve excellent academic results will also be eligible for free recreation and wellness services at camps operated by the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan. All related expenses will be fully covered by the state.
The decree also designates the National Social Protection Agency as the primary coordinating body for services and assistance provided to families listed in the Low-Income Families Registry and the Unified Social Protection Registry. This measure is intended to centralize the delivery of social services and ensure more effective oversight.
