President Shavkat Mirziyoyev meets with a delegation of leading U.S. companies
On June 9, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with a delegation of leading companies from the United States on the eve of the Tashkent International Investment Forum.
The meeting was attended by U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Eric Meyer, Chair of the American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce Carolyn Lamm, Vice President of the International Development Finance Corporation Bethany Brez, and senior executives from Boeing, FLS, Visa, NASDAQ, Air Products, Franklin Templeton, Morgan Stanley, Coca-Cola, and several other major corporations.
President Mirziyoyev noted with satisfaction that the current meeting reflects the growing interest of American businesses in expanding their operations in Uzbekistan.
The discussion focused on prospects for investment and innovation cooperation, including the extraction and processing of strategically important materials, artificial intelligence and digital technologies, modernization of transport and energy infrastructure, as well as the advancement of specific projects in agriculture, tourism, and other sectors.
The heads of U.S. companies expressed their gratitude to the President for the favorable conditions being created for investors in Uzbekistan and outlined their concrete proposals and future plans.
