Nodirbek and Magnus clinch victory as teammates: How much winning team earn?
Our compatriot Nodirbek Abdusattorov and one of the world's strongest chess players, Magnus Carlsen, won a tournament as teammates. They played for the "WR Chess" team and won the World Blitz Chess Championship by defeating the Indian team "MGD1" in the final. The official FIDE website reported this.
The tournament was held in Astana, Kazakhstan, and brought together 40 of the world's strongest teams. The prize fund for this blitz tournament was 100,000 euros.
"WR Chess" defeated strong teams in the group stage, such as "GMHans.com" led by American Hans Niemann. In the final, "WR Chess" drew the first round with "MGD1" with a score of 3.5 to 2.5 and tied the second round 3:3. In the overall standings, Abdusattorov's team secured the victory.
It should be noted that the "WR Chess Team" included Uzbekistan's top chess player Nodirbek Abdusattorov, four-time world chess champion Magnus Carlsen, Russian super-grandmaster Ian Nepomniachtchi, Polish player Jan-Krzysztof Duda, Chinese player Hou Yifan, Indian player Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu, German grandmaster Vincent Keymer, and young chess players Vadim Rosenstein and Alexandra Kosteniuk.
Earlier, the team representing Uzbekistan in the Chess Olympiad was announced.
