Nodirbek Abdusattorov to play against Magnus Carlsen again
Number one chess player of Uzbekistan Nodirbek Abdusattorov will participate in the "Tata Steel Chess India 2024" tournament. This competition will be held from November 13-17 in Kolkata, India.
This prestigious annual tournament is being organized for the sixth time and brings together some of the world’s strongest chess players for a series of intense matches in rapid and blitz formats.
The prize fund for this prestigious event is 41,500 USD, attracting elite chess players. Alongside Abdusattorov, the tournament will feature four-time world champion Magnus Carlsen, China’s number one chess player Wei Yi, German talent Vincent Keymer, experienced American player Wesley So, and host players Vidit Gujrathi, Arjun Erigaisi, Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu, Nihal Sarin, and Narayanan Sunilduth, among other strong competitors.
The tournament is held in two formats, and a separate winner is determined in rapid and blitz. The rapid course consists of 9 rounds with 25+10 time controls, while the blitz course consists of 18 rounds with 3+2 time controls. Both formats are expected to showcase intense battles.
