Navbahor Hamidova becomes the first Uzbek female boxer to reach this historic milestone

Uzbekistan’s Navbahor Hamidova has made history at the ongoing Boxing World Cup in Astana, becoming the first female boxer from the country to win a championship title at the tournament.
Hamidova secured her place in the record books with a landmark victory in the final, where she faced an experienced opponent — Turkey’s Busenaz Sürmeneli, an Olympic gold medalist and three-time world champion.
In a fiercely contested bout, Hamidova dominated the ring and defeated Sürmeneli with a unanimous 5:0 decision, earning the gold medal. Thus, she became the first Uzbek woman to win the World Boxing Cup.
