Leaders of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan discuss current issues of bilateral cooperation
The visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Dushanbe began with a meeting with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
The sides discussed current issues of further strengthening strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
Special attention was paid to the practical aspects of implementing of high-level agreements, first of all, the promotion of cooperation projects in the priority sectors of the economy and the expansion of the cultural-humanitarian exchange program.
In this regard, productive efforts of Joint Intergovernmental Commission were noted with satisfaction.
During the meeting, the heads of state exchanged views on the issues included in the agenda of the next Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Leaders and the summit of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea.
Other aspects of regional cooperation were also considered.
