Electrical equipment exports of Uzbekistan reached $1 billion

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a meeting focused on increasing production, exports, and investments in the electrical equipment industry. More than 100 experienced entrepreneurs in the field participated in the meeting.
The Head of state emphasized that $1 billion has been invested in the sector over the past seven years due to the established favorable conditions. As a result, 762 new enterprises have been launched, and the production of 45 new types of products has been established.
Production volume has increased by 1.8 times, and the number of enterprises with annual revenues exceeding 100 billion UZS rose from 6 to 25. Budget revenue from enterprises in this sector has grown eightfold, and the number of countries importing our products has doubled over the past three years, reaching 62.
The President highlighted that electrical equipment exports have reached $1 billion, making it the second-largest local industry after textiles.
However, it was also noted that there is potential to produce various electrical products domestically, including smart cards, generators, telecommunications equipment, and office devices.
It was also pointed out that our region's $5 billion market opportunities were not being fully utilized.
The President emphasized that, in a context where countries are heavily protecting their domestic markets, the key to advancing is to enhance quality and lower costs to boost the competitiveness of our products. He noted that this can be accomplished by expanding the value-added chain within the sector
